I have never shot a concert from above. We’re always put in a photo pit, camera pointed up towards the artist. Thanks to a friend I finally met that evening, I shall call him MadHaw, haha I got to document what he does. He was the one who took those epic photographs of the Erasherheads Final set from a top of a building.
I wanted to try out once to be his assistant, but last night I realized that I can’t cut out the job he does because he climbs several flights of stairs quite easily and slides through pipes like he was an acrobat. I nearly lost my balance. No wonder he’s so thin, or he can do this BECAUSE he’s thin. Haha. I don’t fit the profile.
It’s not easy taking photos from above but I think he’s done it so many time’s he knows what he’s doing. I obviously don’t. Haha. I saw the rest of the concert from above the grounds and kind of embraced my fear of heights. It’s still there, but what could I do, right? I injured my middle finger by jumping from a pipe, thinking it was going to be a shallow jump. I was wrong and I hesitated halfway and hit my left middle finger on a pipe wheel (or whatever you call it). So now, it hurts.
Francis has been trying to look for himself in this photo. I don’t know where the VIP was transferred. I was told the stage set-up was going to be different so I made some strategies before the gig, but it was changed at the last minute.
It was nice hearing music from the top of a building and watching people from way above. Surreal, peaceful and WINDY! Haha! Kulang nalang tubig!!! It was quite an experience shooting Paramore, as with all great musicians, each of them are one of a kind performers. I’m always honored to take photographs.
Thanks Haw! May utang ako sayong Spaghetti! Haha!

How often do you write your blogs? I enjoy them a lot 9 2 7

ung girl sa harap nung bouncer na nakared, ung nasa unhan sa gtna..
bf q ung nkblue..
galing, nakita mo pa talaga yon.
Are those phones? I guess the “lighter flame in the air” got replaced. lol
The “lighter flame in the air” still looks and feels more “rock” though. =)
i think phones and digital cameras.
most of the time they prevent people from bringing in lighters these days since it’s dangerous. A fight might occur and people end up killing each other, haha!
what camera do u use? u take amazing pictures!
I was there. and my pictures sucked
I think the advantage would be that we were give photo passes and allowed to be at the front only for the first 3 songs.
I use a canon 5d MkII
aah…galing talaga ng paramore…
i love you hayley williams…
Hey, I found one of your pics in google and I used it for my blog. I hope you don’t mind
I linked it back to your site but unfortunately I couldn’t use your share buttons and I couldn’t leave a comment on your main page either. It’s only here that I was able to. Anyway, amazing photos!! Hope you get to take some at the Timbaland concert and John Mayer
I’ll be following you in tumblr
My account’s http://scarletscorpion.tumblr.com.
no worries
thanks! I won’t be taking photos of Timbaland because I’m not a fan. Would like to see JT but it would be nicer if it was a solo concert haha
Oh I thought you get hired to shoot them
it’s okay, John Mayer then!!!
I do get hired for gigs like these, but I chose not to work on the Timbaland concert.
Pressing matters at hand.
